COMM 486: Developing Innovative Applications of Information Technology
Course Application Form

The MIS Division has introduced in 2011/12 on an experimental basis a sequence of two exciting project-oriented courses intended for students in the MIS /BTM (Business Technology Management) option and BUCS (Combined Major in Business and Computer Science) option. In this course, students engage in a two-term team project with the objective of studying and developing a new IT-related product, service, or process. Students have the opportunity to interact with business professionals who act as project mentors.

The first of these courses (486O) is an elective for the BTM Option students and an IT elective for the BUCS Option students. The second (486P) can be considered either as an elective or as fulfilling the BCOMM Capstone course requirement (one of: COMM 491, 492, 497, 498).

The courses will be offered again in 2012/2013 (provided there will be a sufficient number of qualified applicants). To be eligible, students should be in the BTM Option or in the BUCS Option, and in their last year of studies. Students who are taking BTM as a secondary option are eligible. Admission depends on instructors' discretion. To be considered, students need to fill the application form below.
